Write Long Posts so they may Rank in Keyword Searches

Neither write too short blog posts nor write an extra long post. Always try to write a blog post with at least 300 words, this is a perfect length for your posts at it gives you a chance to add all your desired keywords plus helping the search engines to collect enough keywords relating to your blog posts and displaying it.

Adding Internal and External links

Adding internal and external links to your blog posts whenever possiable and neccessay is a good idea, as it tells the search engine that your blog is related to high quality websites.
Suppose if you are giving the example of Wikipedia, adding a link of it is a good idea. Remember, don't add too many links as it may be flagged as spam.

Using keywords in your Title

Adding keywords to your post title is one of the top way to boost traffic of your blog. Title is the first thing that tells the user about the post is all about. So, always try to keep your post title close to your blog post, try to use simple English words that users generally search for on the search engines.

Using keywords in your Posts

Using main keywords in to the body of your blog posts is a good idea and helps the search engine to index your website. Try to use the keywords in the first paragraph of your post itself, always make sure that the use of keywords in the posts is not too much. Don't spam it with your keywords.

Top 4 Black Hat SEO Techniques

What is Black Hat SEO?
According to the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) terminology, Black Hat SEO refers to the tactics, methods and ways which are against the search engine rules, moreover they only focus on search engines rather than human audience. Black Hat SEO can also be called as Unethical SEO, as it works on the methods which are banned or not accepted by the search engines.

Black Hat SEO, Cloaking, Build Traffic
Black Hat SEO

Black Hat SEO Techniques

Hidden Text
Hidden text are the texts which are of the same color as the background, or very similar to it. Webmaster places large number of hidden texts with the hope that search engines will read and treat them relevant.

Interlinking
It is a black hat method where the webmaster builds number of websites and links them together to build the overall link popularity. It becomes difficult to detect it when it is done and implement in the 'correct' manner.

Doorway Pages
Doorway pages are added to the website with the intention and with the purpose to target a specific keyword phase or phases. These pages provide no information, they are solely added to promote the phase and once the visitor lands on these doorway pages, 99% chances are there that he will go to the homepage and will continue from there.

Cloaking
It is a method where different information is shown to the search engine than a human visitor would see.
Wikipedia defines Cloaking as "A search engine optimization (SEO) technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider is different from that presented to the user's browser. This is done by delivering content based on the IP addresses or the User-Agent HTTP header of the user requesting the page. When a user is identified as a search engine spider, a server-side script delivers a different version of the web page, one that contains content not present on the visible page, or that is present but not searchable. The purpose of cloaking is sometimes to deceive search engines so they display the page when it would not otherwise be displayed."

Top 5 SEO Mistakes That Bloggers Should Avoid

SEO Mistakes
Top 5 SEO Mistakes

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a must for every blog to be successful. So, in order to get your blog on the top of the list, SEO should be implemented in a right manner. Over the years, SEO has changed alot.
Basically Google uses an algorithm to index websites on the search result based on multiple factors which keeps on changing time to time.

In this post, I will be discussing some of the most common SEO mistakes made by the bloggers and which should strictly be avoided

SEO Mistakes Should Be Avoided

Copy-Paste a.k.a. Duplicate Content.

This is the most common mistakes made by the newbies, what they do is open a blog, copy the whole article and paste it onto their blog and then they expect traffic through their copy paste posts. Google will consider is as duplicate content which will badly effect your blog/website. Google wants 'value' content, and for Google the definition of 'value' content is that, the content should be 'unique' and original.
So be unique and post original content. Remember, never underestimate the power of Google ;)

Don't sacrific the content of the blog for design.

Many bloggers don't bother about the quality of posts they are posting on their blogs. They just work hard on adding fancy widgets and customizing their blog template. Some of you might think, if the blog is not properly designed, the visitors won' get attracted to the blog, but this thinking is WRONG. I know the blog template, design etc. matters but the content of the post is more important or I must say the most important.
The design of your blog is not the factor for which Google indexes your blog in it's search result, the factor for which your blog gets indexed is your blog's content which you are posting. So keep your focus more on the quality of blog posts rather than template and all.

Writing little content

It is another mistake made by bloggers, by posting little content under their blog posts. More content means more keywords relating to your post, and more keywords means It will be easy for Google to index your website, and once your blog has been indexed you'll traffic.

Spamming of backlinks

It is a common misconception that more backlinks are ALWAYS better. Spamming of backlinks could force google to block your blog. What you need is quality backlinks. Making backlinks on blogs with PR 0 or 1 won't help you. Search for blogs which have high PR, do a link exchange with them. If you don't have a blog with PR, make guest posts on high PR blogs, because they won't accept your backlink but will accept your guest post.

Lack of maintenance

If you want to be a successful blogger then you need to update your blog on daily basics. Just writing few posts and expecting huge traffic won't work. If you want to drive huge amount of traffic then you need to make frequent posts on your blog, at least 4 posts a week, and should keep your blog updated.

How To Make SEO Friendly Images in Blogger

I sat down last night to find out why Wordpress blogs have better search engine rankings when compared to the Google's Blogger. The answer which I found was that Wordpress blogs are highly SEO optimized (especially those run on Thesis Theme), meaning that the plugins on WP make it flexible for the user to optimize his/her blog more compatible with the search engine algorithms. Whereas, this is not the case with blogger.
You Can Get More Traffic By Images : Add Pinterest Pin it Button For Blogger
This post basically deals with one simple trick that will make our blogger/blogspot blogs more search engine friendly. I have sufficiently talked about title tags and meta tags in my previous posts. So, I have discussed only about optimizing our images in this post. Follow these simple steps every time you post an image on your blog and I'm sure your blog will rank better than it did before. Moreover, you will drive traffic through your images by doing this.
Once you upload an image using the post editor, click on the HTML mode. You will find a code something like the one shown below. Its now time to optimize this code for better SEO.

    <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJqwueI31wAm3G6HAN1SvSOTALoebKuVdy4_Da404zr4YtZf8AyHeQPFuFoSaLWNqvXFg8ubDCymxnsKec9hjwETCq5Ign2QmFW_9qnlZwx_azki7M4h2tAp-r_YjFgOYUAfwMKiVDZ98/s1600/image.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJqwueI31wAm3G6HAN1SvSOTALoebKuVdy4_Da404zr4YtZf8AyHeQPFuFoSaLWNqvXFg8ubDCymxnsKec9hjwETCq5Ign2QmFW_9qnlZwx_azki7M4h2tAp-r_YjFgOYUAfwMKiVDZ98/s200/image.png" width="200" /></a>
    1. ADD THE TITLE TAG
Title tags basically display the text when the mouse is hovered over the image. So, how do I add this tag to my image? It is very simple. Just add the following piece of code and insert the text that best describes the post. For example, I want the message "CSS Tutorials" to get displayed when I hover my mouse over the image on the right. To do this, I should modify/add the code as follows.
    <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJqwueI31wAm3G6HAN1SvSOTALoebKuVdy4_Da404zr4YtZf8AyHeQPFuFoSaLWNqvXFg8ubDCymxnsKec9hjwETCq5Ign2QmFW_9qnlZwx_azki7M4h2tAp-r_YjFgOYUAfwMKiVDZ98/s1600/image.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img title="CSS Tutorials" border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJqwueI31wAm3G6HAN1SvSOTALoebKuVdy4_Da404zr4YtZf8AyHeQPFuFoSaLWNqvXFg8ubDCymxnsKec9hjwETCq5Ign2QmFW_9qnlZwx_azki7M4h2tAp-r_YjFgOYUAfwMKiVDZ98/s200/image.png" width="200" /></a>
    2. ADD THE ALT TAGThe alt (alternate) tags are basically those text which appear instead of the image, that is, when the images do not upload faster either due to a slow connection or host problems, these text will be replaced in place of the image. So, it is very vital that every image on your blog has an alt tag. To add this, add the text highlighted in green. For example, my alternate text for the picture above would "CSSEditLogo" and I have highlighted the same in the code below.

    <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJqwueI31wAm3G6HAN1SvSOTALoebKuVdy4_Da404zr4YtZf8AyHeQPFuFoSaLWNqvXFg8ubDCymxnsKec9hjwETCq5Ign2QmFW_9qnlZwx_azki7M4h2tAp-r_YjFgOYUAfwMKiVDZ98/s1600/image.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img title="CSS Tutorials" alt="CSSEditLogo" border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJqwueI31wAm3G6HAN1SvSOTALoebKuVdy4_Da404zr4YtZf8AyHeQPFuFoSaLWNqvXFg8ubDCymxnsKec9hjwETCq5Ign2QmFW_9qnlZwx_azki7M4h2tAp-r_YjFgOYUAfwMKiVDZ98/s200/image.png" width="200" />
    </a>

    3. PROPER IMAGE NAME
The most important factor regarding the SEO would be a proper name to the image. Make sure you include the keywords when you name your image and let it be relevant to the image. It is very important that you avoid spaces because these are generally replaced by %20 and will have no value when it comes to SEO. So, the general idea would be to use '-' or '+' sign for blank spaces.
Example: Instead of CSS Edit Logo, it is better to use CSS+Edit+Logo or CSS-Edit-Logo as your image name. You can completely avoid this confusion by using Resizer.
I suggest you to use Any Resizer before you upload your images to Picasa because it speeds up your blog by decreasing the size of your image.

It is important to note that even though your image size is reduced, your image quality will still be retained.

I hope these tips would be handy for newbies to optimize their blog SEO. I'm sure if you practice this on a regular basis, your blog will rank much better on Google and various other search engines.
